Adding superscripts and subscripts to Google Forms

Google Form doesn't have a built in editor for adding superscripts and subscripts. This is my workaround.

Here is the link to my subscript/superscript spreadsheet. You can make your own copy to your google drive, and then copy/paste the subscripts/superscripts you need.

I have updated the spreadsheet to include a few more symbols which are useful for chemists (5 August 2020).

I just want to say thank you for sharing this tip! It has made it a lot easier for me to prepare online quizzes via Google Form for my students. Initially I had to use the ugly and unreadable 10^x method.

Have you figured out a way to do (aq) subscript for acids and bases. I've been searching high and low to try and find a work around for the lack of a subscript q in unicode.

I tried to copy and paste from a Google Doc and it didn't paste correctly. I have been using https://lingojam.com/SubscriptGenerator and https://lingojam.com/SuperscriptGenerator to make them. It takes just as long as copying and pasting from a spreadsheet but it makes it difficult for Chemistry.

Thanks for this ... NOW ... if we could figure out a way for kids to TYPE them too ... I want to test their ability to CREATE answers with super / subscript ... like putting numbers into Scientific notation :-(
